AW: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hey Hoborg, can you look at my problem too ? Plz, i will use the MyCinemaPlugin.

And then I've got a question about the plugin from Sloty My cinema program. When playing a trailer depends MEPO. Since one needs the FLV codec believe is with you not here? Does not that make ffdshow? Or do I set one probably something different?

Can nobody help me ? The current logs stuck in the signature!

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Thanks again Hoborg for your help.

Funny thing is that if run in WMP the file is Ok. I wonder if it would not work flawlessly on a 32 bit Win 7, with 32 bits version of the DMO codecs.
Or is there a way to install them on a 64 bits win 7? My understanding is that they could work with the 32 bits versions of the MS codec, that is unavailable in my system, as 32 bits apps cannot use 64 bits codecs, even on a 64 bits platform...

Sorry, but i somehow dont understand what proble you have? *.FLV playback?

This is not related to OS. WMP is using MediaFoundation to play files, buf SAF is DirectShow based.
Please try patch i PM to you...

    Hello Hoborg,

I tried the patch you sent me, but the result is the same in graphstudio and mpc-hc.
I am wondering if this could be a localization issue, as the other user with the same problem comes from France and I also use a French Win 7.

Also, I didn't checked the registry before applying the patch, so I don't know if it added new entries or modified existing ones.

Let me know what I shall try next,

    :D

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Hello,

I tried to change the codec setting in ffdshow to use libdvacodec for divx3/4/5, and in graphstudio it now uses ffdshow instead of of the MS codec, but no change - only sound.
    The same applies to mpc-hc.

What is shark007 codec installing/configuring that makes it work that SAF is not handling?

Installing shark007 codec might make everything work, but there is no DXVA support for ffdshow in there - and even using ffmpeg-ht I suffer jitter in some of my HD content that play just fine with SAF at the cost of high cpu usage....

Strange enough that MS (who are not known to best suit standards) supports those files natively in wmp and that a versatile tool like ffdshow cannot...

    Any suggestion welcome.

Oh, and Hoborg, once you tested on your win7 at homew the file I have issues with, can you let me know what happened?

Sorry to bother so many people with this, but getting this fixed may helkp other people, too...

    :sorry:

I forgot to mention that I restarted my system after applying the patch.

By the way, could ced007 try the file I uploded to see if he gets the same issue?

And Hoborg, would you like me to try to disable the DMO codecs to see if it fixes it?

??? libavcodec is default SAF settings, you had something else here? If FFDshow is in use now, then patch i sended to you works :)

I think shark is using default OS avi splitter instead of MPC AVI splitter.
Did you tryed to disable MPC AVI splitter as i wrote you? Open graphstudio, graph - insert splitter - look for "MPC - Avi Splitter" and hit unregister.
Your file should be working now, but others AVIs may not...

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

:D again Hoborg for your help.

I unregistered the splitter, and it works in graphstudio.
I also unticked the internal avi in mpc-hc and the file is also playing in there. I just hope it won't break other files

Regarding the settings for ffdshow in SAF, if I look at the codecs, I only have libavcodec for FVFW, FFDS and FFV1, all the rest is disabled.

As I explained, I deleted the GNU entry in HKCU\Software. I'm in a domain and must install as another user (with admin rights).

I will completely reinstall SAF as follow:

    Uninstall SAF
Delete entry for GNU as admin
Delete entry for GNU as user
    Install SAF
    Export GNU as admin
    Import GNU as user

    And retest.

Does that sound logical to you?

    felix_clerc:
Why you export/inport any registry settings? SAF will setup FFDShow setup fully automatically...

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    I reply to myself, sorry...

I reinstalled in the sequence I suggested before, and now have correct values in ffdshow, with presets, etc....

So Hoborg, it may be a good idea to provide the reg files in the saf package with default values so users may import them as standard user if needed.

On a non domain machine, UAC elevate privilege of the current user to admin, so it fills the correct users registry location. In a domain, UAC prompts for another user with admin rights, thus registering settings in that user's registry hive rather than the one of the initiating user.

I guess that exporting the GNU hive as admin on my freshly installed machine then importing it back as the normal user will fix the issue, too...

Pfeew - quite a tricky one...

Thanks a lot Hoborg for your help!
