Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hello Hoborg. thnx for a great tool: most of my video's are playing very fine, except .mp4 files: They just play the audiotracks, but no video, like it was an audiofile (I get the MePo skinoverlays for music and the MyMusicPlayingNow screen, when entering fullscreen). In MPC-HC they play just fine. Using Grapheditor, there is no remote stream to connect to when playing an MP4 from within MePo, using MPC-HC it's all fine. If I'm correct from reading this thread, this indicates that this isn't a problem in SAF, but in MePo. So I double checked the requirements and there doesn't seem to be anything missing... (although I don't use a state of the art PC) For sake of brevity I collapsed the mediainfo from MPC.

This is not showing video (just sound):

bhengeveld:
Post MediaPortal logs too.

Maybe MePo play MP4 as audio instead of video? One of the plugin did this.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi Bhengeveld,

There might be 2 issues:
1 - The file type .mp4 you are trying to play (when no video) You can remove THAT extention out of the list of extentions of music filetype section. Could be related to audio plugins like pureaudio also thinking it is audio etc.. If you have this kind of plugin installed ofcourse.
2 - The number of reference frames is 12 in the video not showing an image. This might be above the bluray spec. (but for this resolution im not sure) You could remux the file with 4 ref frames and see if it plays ok after that.

But my bet is (1) will solve this for you already. Hope this helps :)

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Thanks guys! Disabling the PureAudio plugin indeed solved the problem (I already removed the ext. from the music filetype list) In addition, I had to switch to ffdshow audio decoder instead of Monogram AAC, to get audio right. With Monogram AAC it sounded like it was recorded in a bathroom. (Graphstudio showed an audiostream going through Monogram and an audiostream going trough ffdshow when using monogram) Now everything plays just fine :)

Brilliant!

EDIT: Removing .mp4 from the PureAudio extension list also seems to do the trick!

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi Hoborg,
I tried to update my SAF5 to latest version...

1. I removed the old version, then I made a reboot.
2. I installed saf500svn20110214_msvc2010.exe. Setup worked fine.
3. Reboot.

Since then, MediaPortal configuration is crashing on start.
Configuration.log is attached. There is no other log generated.
Any idea how I could fix this?

START-SAF-tools-Filmerit

here you will find what wrong.
MePo configuration tool is very sestivie for such errors. It should popup error message instead of crash :/

I have Win7 x64 SP1 here and no problem, i just tryed it.
No idea what is the problem.

Just dropping by to say that I have the same problem since several versions.

Workaround: Once the "need rights to run d.bat" error message pops up, just wait 5 minutes, then click on "Retry". By that time, it should have magically resolved whatever problem there is... (another error will likely pop up, stating something like "File doesn't exist" - because the scripts have already run and installed everything, even cleaned up the temporary installation folder). Works for me at least, although I've got no idea why.
