Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Workaround: Once the "need rights to run d.bat" error message pops up, just wait 5 minutes, then click on "Retry". By that time, it should have magically resolved whatever problem there is... (another error will likely pop up, stating something like "File doesn't exist" - because the scripts have already run and installed everything, even cleaned up the temporary installation folder). Works for me at least, although I've got no idea why.

That is strange.
You should be able to view (F3 from total commander) the d.bat file.

Can some antivirus be checking the file and lock it?

I didnt change anything on that SAF part for long time now...

No, it's not possible to access the files at all, you can't view them. This applies for all the .bat files (I think there's more than d.bat).
I'd also find it strange that it would be the virus scanner. I recall I had already tried to disable it and it still didn't work.
Also, the virus scanner would not take a minute to scan a simple .bat file consisting of only plaintext.

I've already given it some thoughts in the past months, everytime I did a SAF installation on my PC, but I wasn't able to figure it out so far. I also have Windows 7 UAC disabled, so it shouldn't even ask for admin rights, because the user already has them.

I just installed the latest version by the way and the problem is still there and reproducable and the workaround I described above also worked this time. So for me it's not a big problem at the moment, just a bit annoying.

What SAF5 message stay on screen? Like "Registering XYZ", "unpacking XYZ", etc...

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Hi Hoborg,
I tried to update my SAF5 to latest version...

    1. I removed the old version, then I made a reboot.
    2. I installed saf500svn20110214_msvc2010.exe. Setup worked fine.
    3. Reboot.

Since then, MediaPortal configuration is crashing on start.
Configuration.log is attached. There is no other log generated.
Any idea how I could fix this?

    START-SAF-tools-Filmerit

here you will find what wrong.
MePo configuration tool is very sestivie for such errors. It should popup error message instead of crash :/

There was one error which filmerit fixed... configuration loaded afterward but there was not a single codec in the list.
Unfortunately the backup file I made before is somehow corrupted, so I'm no even able to revert

Tried to reinstall SAF, dind't help either...
    Log and screenshot attached

When I try to play a video in MPC, I get following error:

    Hi.
Unlocked SAF failed to download "downloaded (52885)", maybe there was a problem on the server, please try again later or use offline unlock.

    SAF 5.00 SVN20110304 out:
    - ALL - MPC-HC filters/player updated to rev. 1.5.1.2962
    - ALL - FFDShow updated to rev.3765
    - ALL - QT source filter updated to 1.7.2.2
    - ALL - redirect *.WAV to DC-Bass Source filter
    - ALL - set FFDShow default AC3 decoder to liba54 and DTS to libdts
    - ALL - rework colorspace output due recent FFDshow update
    - ALL - fix wrong prefered MJPEG decoder (Win7 only)
    - ALL - it now possible to use PDVD10 decoder to play interlaced VC-1 using DxVA with correct timestamps (*unlocked* SAF only)
    - nPVR - support for nPVR 2.0.3
    - nPVR - added Czech translation

    This update is huge...
-MPEG splitter now support PDVD decoder so you can now play interlaced VC-1 using PDVD with DxVA ON with correct timestamps - for example in BluRay Handler plugin - just disable VC-1 in FFDShow codec (*unlocked* SAF only)
-FFDshow updates colorspaces output logic - SAF will now output in RGB32 by default to increase picture quality (except h.264/VC-1 and MPEG video)
-it is now possible to play *.WAV files with DTS inside
-i changed AC3 and DTS decoders to FFDshow default - so please test and report if passthrough is working correctly.

Can you post small video sample to reproduce?
    BTW, what is "PVM" audio?

    EDIT:
OK, i think where the problem is.
Try to open FFDshow audio decoder and change Uncompresed to All supported (but this will broke MOV playback) Looks like there is no way out...

The problem is with files with mix of uncompresed and compresed audio. I will fix it, but i need to remove MOV "fix".
    Reuploading new SAF revision...
