when i connect my htpc wireless (N) and play a 1080p mkv video, sometimes i have a stutter for 1 or 2 seconds because the wireless is somewhat interrupted. Perhaps a somewhat larger buffer can solve this.

I have the same problem when my TV Server has some background tasks to do...
So I'd also like to have a buffer on the client, e.g. for 5 or 10 seconds.
Is that possible?

Thanks,
Heiko

Introduced a A/V Receiver in the path introduced a lag

Hi,

I had MP 1.1.2 + SAF 5 working fine with my HTPC directly connected to my TV over hdmi cable. This week I have setup my home theater and switched the htpc connection to receiver(again over hdmi). Now, I see a short lag of about 1-2seconds between video and audio from a video I am playing on htpc. Other devices connected to receiver doesn't have this problem, so I do not suspect it is the receiver. It is visible with HD or SD videos played from htpc.

I haven't reconfigured SAF when I introduced the receiver in the path. Should I reinstall SAF? Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks for the help. Let me know if I should collect any logs for analysis.

I went through some of the posts in this thread, I think I will have to reinstall SAF and select passthrough during installation. I will try that.

    Hi sheish

The link is correct, but it looks like the server is down. If you PM hoborg and let him know then hopefully he should be able to resolve the problem...

    Hi Hoborg,

I've build a new MP based on this Mainboard
    E35M1-M inkl. AMD Fusion E-350

with 4GB DDR3-1333, as OS I use Win7, swapfile turned off

With SAF6 I got massive performance issues so I tried SAF5.02 and at first everything looks fine.
But sometimes I've got little performance issues while playing non-HD xvids. With HD-Files (H264) I've got no problems.

Now I switched from ffdshow to PDVD10 as video decoder and the problems were gone but the quality is a little bader as ffdshow.

Could it be that ffdshow is a little better but slower than PDVD10?

    thx

    @WhyTea:
How are you testing? In Graphstudio?

SAF6 should be less CPU hungry becouse of great LAVF audio decoder.
Lo-res videos should be played even on old CPUs. Here i have old Intel Atom CPU, and lo-res videos playing just fine even if i use FFDShow ReSize filter.

I'll test it at the weekend and post screenshots from graphstudio

    Hi.
Yes, server is down. I already report it to provider.
    Please try again later...

    Thanks Hoborg.

I was able to download the latest SAF 5 and also upgraded to MP 1.1.3. Everything is fine now, the lag is gone.
