Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

Here is my mepo.log. Is tehre another log file u need?

Thanks
Henric

You have some errors in this LOG.
Graph is crashing.
Make sure you are setup MePo to use default audio renderer.

Code:
2011-10-17 12:35:30.116145 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: Added filter: ffdshow Video Decoder to graph

By some reason, MePo add normal FFDshow video decoder instead of FFDShow DXVA one.
Make sure you setup MePo to use FFDshow DXVA video decoder.

Simply check MePo logs, there is error.lig too. Look inside and firstly try to eliminat all errors.

But if you files play OK in graphstudio, it is not a SAF problem, so you should start a new forum for this...

Are u sure its not a saf but a mepo problem. I found out following. I also see as you that mepo do not apply the fddshow DXVA codec but the normal fddshow video decoder. So i tried to change the codec for mpeg files in mepo config. In den mepo.log i can see everytime the codec i've linked to mpeg files insted of the fddsho dxva when i start one of my m2ts files. I've tested this with the mpc and the pdvd11 codec. So for me its clear that my video is stuttering. On the HTPC of my buddy with saf 4 installed i got not that issue. Here MPC-HC codec is linked to h264 files and this one is seen in the mepo.log when i start my m2ts file. To summarize.

Both HTPCs have a fresh installed MEPO 1.2.0. quite simmilar config. The one with saf 4 links the codec for h264 to m2ts files, the one with saf 6 links the mpeg codec to m2ts files. So i rumoring its a saf bug maybe ???
Only difference in both HTPCs is the fact that my one has not a fresh saf installation. I uninstalled the saf 4 version with the installer and installed saf 6. Maye there is left some trash on my harddisk?

When i set pdvd11 codec to the mpeg files, my m2ts file isn't stuttering and my cpu usage is quite low. Does this have any cons?

Hope that helps.

Thanks
Henric

Thats the point. I hope you can anwser this :-(

Oh my mistake, didnt read your quote.

I found out that the codec which is linked to mpeg files will be applied when i play a m2ts file. Thats why you see the normal fddshow decoder instead of the dxva one.

Well, i am not sure if i understand you correctly. If you can play yout m2ts file correctly in Graphstudio - just drag and drop your file here and hit play, FFDshow DXVA decoder is in use, right? If yes, SAF it is working as it should, that is simple rule.
Basically, SAF have nothing to do with MePo at all. SAF will setup your Direct Show only, it didnt touch any part of MePo installation.

If MePo add FFDshow video decoder instead of FFDshow DXVA decoder in to graph, then it looks like your MePo is configured to use it instead of FFDShow DXVA decoder.

AVC "is" h.264, so i think MePo should use decoder that is set in h.264 filed for your m2ts. So make sure you have FFDShow DXVA decoder set in H.264 video decoder.

I found out that the codec which is linked to mpeg files will be applied when i play a m2ts file. Thats why you see the normal fddshow decoder instead of the dxva one.

Really? Then this is wrong...
Any MePo user can confirm this? Becouse if this is true, then it is ugly MePo bug.

BTW, *.m2ts is a container, it can hold both MPEG or h.264 video formats...

Hoborh sorry for this, but im not a nobe on IT ;-) fddshow dxva is set for h264 files, believe me. But for some reason mepo does not use this codec for my m2ts files :(

Can you post a small video sample to test?

As you can see, MePo doesnot used PDVD11 decoder for you m2ts, it used FFDShow decoder.
So at last it doesnot used decoder for MPEG2 setting, so it should be working.

BTW, can you try START-SAF-FFDShow DXVA decoder setting - HW acceleration - Compatibility mode and here set "skip all checks"?

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

I guess i found the error hoborg,

i named my family videos as followed.

i.e.

video....Part 1.m2ts
video....Part 2.m2ts
video....Part 3.m2ts

So if i start the video Mepo ask me which part of the video i want so play, it recognizes that all video belongs together. If i rename the first file without oart 1 the dxva decoder is used. To summarize all videos which are alon the dxva decoder is used and all videos which belongs to a group and mepo summarizes them to one video has that problem cuz the dxva decoder isnt used. So in my eyes i agree with you, that must be a mepo problem. Maybe mepo believes that if there are a "part 1", "part 2" and so on in the filename that it has to be mpeg files.

@Henric-a:

BTW you have some crashes in MePo graph build - can you start MePo in window, play one you your m2ts in MePo, hit pause, START-SAF-TOOLS - graphstudio and here file - connect to remote graph and hit connect.
Make screenshot and post it here.

Its not that clear, shit, i'm so f...ed of :-(

For some reason for some videos the dxva decoder isnt used, for some he is. Its about 50% to 50%.

I will try that with the graph

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

Here are my two screenshots. One for good and one for bad. I found out that there is some cut with my videos. Til a specific month all videos are used with the dxva decoder after that month not. Im pretty sure not to change any config on my cam but maybe i did :-(

Hoborg: is it a problem to use the pdvd11 codec for mpeg files, with that codec the problem istn there?
