I notice a big difference between resize software (ffdshow) and hardware (GPU).
In my system the resize (from 576p to 720p or 1080p) done by ffdshow in much better.
So for this reason i created the ad hoc profiles (for DVD)

note obvious differences in your systems?

Thanks
For DVD resize, you firstly need to deinterlace image (PAL DVDs).
So you will loose HW deintrlacing in this case.

So you need to use a deinterlace filter in FFDshow before the resize filter?
Like if I use PowerDVD (no DXVA) for decoding SDTV and want to use FFDshow resize filter with luma sharpening, I need to use an interlace filter, like YADIF, before?

Yes.
And there can be problems with menus too.

    I'am not an expert.
But i don't use deinterlace filter (yadif or similar) and the quality image is perfect too :)

    Hi,

bitstreaming of "dts-hd high resolution" does not work for me right.

When I start playing a movie with "dts-hd high resolution" there is initially no sound. The movie is playing, but the AV receiver shows no signal on the display. I have to start a movie with a "dts-hd master audio" track before, then movies with "dts-hd high resolution" have sound, too. This is reproducible after each system start, or when i switch of the AV receiver inbetween.

Next problem: When playing a "dts-hd high resolution" track with 7.1 channels, the receiver shows it only as "dts-hd master audio" 5.1 and the sound level is much lower, than usual. So, exact bitstreaming with lav is not working for this format, otherwise there would not be a loss in channels.

The bluray "Pirates of the Carribean 4" is an example with a 7.1 "dts-hd high resolution" track. I also had many sound stutterers playing this movie, each time I had to skip back for recovering playback.

Is bitstreaming of "dts-hd high resolution" working for someone that uses lav audio?? Are there small sample files for testing?

Playing the same bluray with PowerDVD 10 does not have the problem, the receiver then correctly shows as "dts-hd high resolution 7.1".
