Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

Hi, I got a question about this.
You run your system with LAV only. Do you have issues with a file? Any file or is all perfect, dvd/video/onlinemedia?
Any audio/video sync issues??

:D

I configure everything in MP to use LavVideo & LavAudio, except DVD where i choose the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder.
The only thing that doesn’t work yet with LavVideo is VC1i, but people that have a Nvidia GPU can use the LavCuvid decoder for that. I don’t have any VC1i files i think, except one sample that hoborg posted in this thread a while ago, maybe there is on some bluray i have?
But if i encounter something with VC1i, i can always change to DTV-DVD decoder in the MP gui.

Works great on my Win7 32 with ATI 5770, no issues jet.
I also tested on XP sp3 with Nvidia GF8800GT, and everything seems to work.

I don’t have a TV card, so i don’t know much about recordings, but i think it should work!

Kudos to nevcairiel :)

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

Finally solved

The MPEG-2 Video decoder sould be set as Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder, as shown in the attachment.

Now I'm able to play wmv files.

If someone knows the source of this, I'll be happy to know.

For now erverything working again, will teste later on Blu Ray material.

Thanks

I have uninstalled SAF, and only using Lav Splitter/audio/video for now.
But if i disable VC1 support in LavVideo, the sample you provide falls back and plays with WMVideo Decoder DMO and WMAudio Decoder DMO in MP and MPC-HC, same in XP and Win7. Maybe there is something wrong with your Vista installation?

It also works with LavVideo :)

So disable vc-1 in LAV? That's new to me, will look into that!
Video played well in mpc, so it looks system is ok!

That was only for testing, the sample plays fine with Lav for me (VC1 enabled).
Its VC1i (interlaced) files that don’t work with Lav yet, but your sample is VC1p (progressive).

disabling vc1 support on dxva ffdshow, ffdshow and lav makes all Vc1 p and i decoded by cyberlink with full DXVA support :) bye

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

Took the plunge from SAF 5.02 to the latest version of SAF 6 and this time I un-checked the "Use AC3-filter (needed for some audiocards)" in MePo configuration and everything seems to work very well. But I get re-sizing as soon as I run a file with subtitles even though I chose to not use FFDShow subtitles.

Edit: I'll have to take back some of my praise for now unfortunately. I wrote the beginning of this post before testing video files with mp3/aac audio. Unless I have AC3/DTS sound, I get this horrible "feedback" sound, like really distorted and "screaming". Ire-enabled the use of AC3 filter in MePo config, but it doesn't change anything (at least for me in this case).

When I was running 5.02, I had a LOT of random crashes (audio got stuck in some sort of loop and the screen just went black. Now that I've tried this I haven't had an incident like that (so far) and I almost only watch h24 files. Great job for that part!

    Cheers

Lav audio included with saf6 only support 32 bit float. This is not supported in some older soundcard drivers. Could be the reason for your problem with decoded audio.

Thanks, I have an external Soundblaster Live! 24bit, so I guess that's why then. It's very annoying, especially since SAF 6 seems way more stable on my system than 5.02. Is there any "on-the-fly" mp3->AC3 encoder filter I could use possibly? I don't feel like buying a new soundcard as I mostly only use the one I have for bitstreaming to my receiver.

Best would of course be if LAV audio has a switch that can be set to use 24 or 16 bit audio instead that we could activate from the SAF program group in the start menu.
