AW: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

SAF6 is working (also with passthrought direct to AMP via Tosslink)

    BIG :D @ Hoborg again

but i tried to change video-codec for BluRay use:

wanna use PDVD11 instead of FFD -

    when i change from FFD-Show-DXVA ---> PDVD11
graphstudio shows me that FFD-show-DXVA is in use.

any chance to change without playin around with the merrits?

    regards

    EDIT:

    reason for it:

have stuttering @ all BluRays - and i was not sure
if that is problem by my "old" LG combo drive (BluRay & HD-DVD)
    tried a new slim-line BR-Drive same stuttering.
or could that be a problem because low power CPU
(Athlon X2 BE-2350 but did not check the Taskmanager CPU-usage)?
GPU in this system is a Sapphire HD-5570...

    against copy-protection - i use passkey) ;)

original BluRay : transformers & transformers 2 & James Bond (quantum)

    all stuttering ...

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

ffdshow.ax is there in C:\Windows\System32, its just not registered, double click to do that.

I am not seeing ffdshow.ax in my system 32 folder on win 7 and have problems playing audio of all file types mpeg2 and x264 all in mkv containers. Any suggestions?

Problem solved after many hours of frustration, ffdshow.ax is in the sys/wow folder on 64 bit windows and change the bit rate support on my optical out has now fixed the issue. A couple more reboots and ill be happy.

    Hi,

How can I force MP4 videos to use DXVA?
    Besides demuxing them of course.

    Thanks

DXVA is automatically ON if your GPU support it and this MP4 video is DXVA compatible.

With SVN20110620 I don't get PDVD Decoder with *unlocked* SAF...

    Did you install unlocked SAF?

Will there be any new SVN soon ;) ?

    Yes :)
But no ETA, i am completelly out of time :/

    Hi Hoborg,

after changing from SAF 5 to 6 (unlocked) i´have some trouble with several MKV. When starting them in Mediaportal it crashes completely and I am back on Desktop. I figuered out, that the problem is the ffdshow(DXVA) codec, with PDVD11 it works. System is an 785 AMD-onboardchip. In the annex there´s a mediainfo.txt from one file.
I hope that you´ve got the sollution.

    Thanks a lot.
    Sparky

Can you try to play it in graphstudio?

No Problem there: LAV -> ffdshow(DXVA) -> EVR.

So there is something strange while playing in MePo.....

    Thanks, how can I tell?

I have a MP4 movie, in GraphStudio it shows FFDSHOW, and I get the FFDSHOW little red icon on system tray, Playing with WMP I don't get any icon on system tray, the extract from MediaInfo:

I also have some older HD-DVD rips, which play with DXVA but with a lot of block like artifacts and if playing it with FFDSHOW & DXVA disables, I get a nice picture, no artifacts.

Is there anything in the MediaInfo output that can tell that the first is not compatible with DXVA, and the second will have display problems?

    Many thanks in advance
