Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

LAV have big future. It already dominated two of three segmets - media splitting and audio decoding. Last one - video decoding will follow soon.
It is unbelievable how much nevcairiel already did and how fast it was created. And he doing that just for fun.

He have plan to merge LAV CUVID decoder with LAV video decoder, add DXVA2 support, BluRay menus, etc...

This man is genius...

Just for interest, I'm not technically "codecs and Filters" incline, but isn't DXVA2 what they use in XBMC? is it a DirectShow filter?

Besides my question, it sounds great and any improvement to my HTPC experience is excellent.

DXVA2 is already used by almost every video codec on Windows 7 / Vista (XP ones uses DXVA1), so XBMC is nothing special in this case. DXVA2 can be utilised outside directshow as well (this is what XBMC's one developemnt branch is doing).

What comes to Blu-ray menus it would require a player side support since DirectShow doesn't have anything that could be used for such. But you might get a small suprise for that in another direction before Maya's calendar end - year...

I have downloaded the latest SAF. I can play video with mp3 sound, but with DD and DTS I get no sound in MP, and in GraphStudio I get a a scratchy noise. When I play it in MPC-HC that followed SAF I get perfect sound!

    What is the problem?

Aaaargh.. Whats the use. By that time earth as we know it will either blow up or we'll be purified and in perfect peace/harmony. :p (according to the people who try to read the maya calender) No need for bluray support to 'kill time' then.
