Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

I have a small problem playing some vid's on my mediapc. I really hope somebody can tell me what is going wrong. I can easly watch the whole episode, but really often i see squares in faces and i see the whole screen turning slightly to a different collor.

    <Picture>

Did you install the ASUS drivers? If so... you need to make sure the "Splendid" Bull... is turned off or uninstalled. I had similar effect with my old
EAH4350. My motto with the Splendid stuff was it was splendid for filling the trash bin. Maybe its best to stay with the stock ATI driver pack. PS 11.9 is just out. :)

Besides this you can also look if any of the image "Enhancers" is turned on. If so, you can turn them off. (I have all of em turned off. See picture below.

tnx for your reply. I have installed the 11.8 drivers a few weeks ago, so its not the out-of-the-box asus drivers. After turning all options off in de video options of ati (what you screen is saying) i didnt see any changes in the episode. faces are still "made" from squares. At the same time the screen is changing collors a bit and a few seconds later its normal again. I only notice this changes in dark scenes and faces. When i see a shot from, for example, a landscape by day i dont see any squares in the picture.

Also i'm not sure what you mean by de Splendid bull.

Also, when i make screenshot exact the same time the image looks almost the same. Problem is that i have problems with all the episodes they are releasing.

Splendid: See the link from ASUS. for me it resulted in total cr*p images. But I think if you have installed the original AMD drivers from the site, it shouldn't be installed at all. But you can check if it is installed in "Programs and Features".

You could try a different codec than ffdshow video decoder (MP setup) If this all doesn't help, I am at a loss.

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

    Hi Hoborg,
I installed with great satisfaction SAF 6 unlocked in my HTPC running MePo 1.2.1 final.
All seems to be ok, but I' experiencing a little issue with bluray playback in MediaPortal: when I play a bluray and try to change audio track the playback stops and the home screen of MediaPortal is shown.

The problem doesn't occur playng a bluray with MPC-HC: switching audio track works perfectly.

Is there any special setting in MediaPortal configuration?
What kind of information should I provide for you to figure out my problem?

    Thank you very much

Changing from FFDshow to lav is removing the problem. Tnx for your advice. Will check what option in FFDshow causes this problem.

    [edit]

Also tested it on a different pc with FFDshow and the results where the same as before on my HTPC (faces with squares).

I rectify : I'm actually not able to playback only AC3 audio tracks. Other formats can be played but now I realized that my DVDs or video files with AC3 audio sound muted.
    What would be the reason?
    Thanks

Are you using LAV video decoder for LiveTV? If yes, try PDVD instead (from unlocked SAF).

Did you tryed to play them diirectly in Graphstudio?

    No for me not!

In live tv I have problems when jumping or when the program is switching between merchandising and normal tv program. The I have blocks and sometimes the movie runs a little bit backwards.

Since I made the performance rating in Windows 7 the PDVD11 works just great (with my ATI 5450)!
