Just open up the MP TV Config app and click on "stop service" - its in the manual control section

after install is done, click "start service"

Hoborg the tvservice from 4therecord is called: "For the Record Recorder/Tuner Service" with shortname: "ForTheRecordRecorderTuner"

If you stop it before installing and then start it again after it will be great!

AW: Re: AW: Re: Install Error - File Locked

It's only Called tvservice. Seems a little as it's connected to This Thread

Never had it before - but since the Upgrade to 1.2.0 I got it during every installation - just ignored it til it started bothering me :).

Can you please try this bat file?
Excute it - it should stop the TV service - check if TV service is really stopped, then hit any key and the service should be started again.

    Bat-File is working finne

How to enable HW-Deinterlacing with PowerDVD 11?

With SD-material (25fps interlaced as in SD-TV, DVD etc.), I get hardware-deinterlacing with no problem when I use ffdshow as codec.
But when I use PowerDVD11 I don't know how to get automatic deinterlacing to work.

    Symptoms and setup:

    Automatic Refreshrate Changer enabled.
Set to 50 fps/50 Hertz refreshr-rate for both HDTV, PAL, SD-TV.

    latest ATI-Catalyst Driver.
Set to automatic deinterlacing controlled by application in CCC-settings --> Video

    Mediaportal:
CoreAVC or ffdshow DXVA for HDTV. Works 100% fine and gives out 50Hz progressive according to my TV-set (displays 1080p received) and to VMR9 Shift "1" display.

Now I switch to interlaced SD-material.

With ffdshow as video codec as decoder result is 100% fine.
TV-set shows still 1080p data coming.
    PVR9 Sgift "1" also shows 50 fps.
Test-samples show that deinterlacing works very good.

But when I use PowerDVD11 as video decoder PVR9 Shift "1" tells me 25 fps (!) and there is definitely no deinterlacing visible.

    Settings in MP-configuration:

    - The checkmarks in the Codecs & Renderer settings for PowerDVD11 are set to "Use hardware accelerator"
    - In the TV-section of MP-Configuration fallback deinterlace method is set to "Best"
    - In SAF I have set PDVD --> DXVA On/Green light (though there is no feedback sound or message when I change between On <-> Off)

My TV-set still says 1080p-data are coming!
So apparently the ATI-driver doubles the frame rate from 25fps to 50 fps (otherwise my TV would tell me 1080i) but doesn't do any deinterlacing.
Worse still it looks like a kind of combing artefact.

    Where is the trick?

    Kind regards

It is ON by deafult. Looks like DXVA is failing on your GPU under MePo. Can you try some better GPU?
Or try to play your recording outside MePo - in graphstudio.

Graphics HD 4200 should be absolutely sufficient.
    Can do even vector-adaptive hardwar de-interlacing, has UVD2, DXVA-capable...
    Wikipedia

Hardware de-interlacing works perfect with ffdshow-decoder, so it should also with PDVD11.
Processor load is around 10% then, so GPU and CPU can't be the problem.
Must be something in the settings or perhaps a registry-tweak?

    Any more ideas?

    Kind regards

Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

    Here is SAF6 test build.
SAF now stop more rec. services and i added START menu shortcuts fot LAVF.

BTW, SAF won't start the services after install.
User should restart HTPC after SAF install, this will start rec.service automatically.

    HELP needed.

More and more antivirus program mark part of SAF unlocking process (WGET) as a virus.
    This is a false detection.
So i found one build of WGET.exe to be "cleanest" one.

But it is so small, so there can be some *.DLL needed to run it.

Can anybodu just try to run it to see if any missing DLL error popup?
Just unpack the zip, and run "runme.bat"
If yes, send me name of this DLL.

    Here it is

I tested it here and it is working fine, but before i update saf.key, i need more tests.

    Thank you.

    Tested on Windows 7 32b SP1.
No message of missing dll(s), just a notice that a weblink is missing (missing URL).
