Re: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF)

    Help !
Nobody has any clue for me (no voices when sound is not DTS or DD) ?
    See post 1351
    I don't have any idea

Hi, i have this same issue too. But i am using mpaudiorenderer. I also saw a seperate profile in the previous SAF6 version
    Voices are missing (center channel).

@Hoborg can you explain the seperate DTS profile in SAF6? Mixer is enabled and that is not good for mpaudiorenderer with AC3 encoding enabled. DTS was not decoded, timestretched and encoded tot AC3 as a result.

    Greetings,

    Greetings,

You mean in FFDShow? It need to diasable jitter correction, else it causing stuttering.
But by SAF default, LAV audio decoder is in use, not FFDShow.

Oke, but ffdshow is needed for mpaudiorenderer. If you live in europe you must be using mpaudiorenderer too Hoborg :D
Seperate profile is not an issue, enabling the mixer is the problem.

I don't even know if I am using mpaudiorenderer.
I tried to change LAV audio for ffdshow audio. in MP config but to no avail.

As far as I know, what you are describing sound like the voice channel is being seperated from the stereo track. This is similar to what your amp/decoder would do were you sending it a stereo signal that you would like outputed on a 3.0 setup (Front stereo + center channel ) : the amp/decoder will analyse the stereo track, then take the voice audio and move it to a voice track (this is done though algorithms commonly called PLII video/ movie, or Neo 6: cinema/movie/music etc). If this was being done by your amp/decoder, you would hear an output on the center channel speaker (I am assuming you have a 5.1 amp/decder and at least 3.0 speaker setup).Since this is not the case, I don't think its a problem with your amp/decoder settings.

As far as I'm aware however, mediaportal and the SAF codecs have no feature that would allow creating the center channel in such a way (and removing it from the stereo track).
I think though, that some sound cards do have this feature. is it possible that your soundcard is removing the voices from the stereo track, and sending them to a center channel track that your am/decoder is unable to decode ?

Not true, i am not using MePo at all. My HTPC is NPVR+SAF6+ReClock based. :)

Reinstall SAF6 and enable the install option of ffdshow audiodecoder during installation.

No, problem is that it is a SAF problem only. ffdshow audio decoder is working perfectly. The problem is only with LAVF and in combination with mpaudiorenderer (AC3 encoding in mpaudiorenderer enabled) I use SP/DIFF.

BTW, LAV audio decoder + MePo audio renderer doesnot working correctly right now. MePo audio renderer needs to be updated for full support.
You can use LAV audio decoder + ReCLock (with AC3 encoding). This will also alow AAC 5.1 for example.

Ok, i shall try Reclock again then. Didn't know it was still alive :D

    got it.
Unfortunatly, I don't use mpaudiorenderer AFAIK.
So is its main function only to re-encode to AC3 ? and if so, using the ffdshow audio processor to encode ac3 on the fly is not as good ? To be fair I never heard about this mpaudirendered until now, so any info is welcome :)
