I've worked quite hard for the past week trying to get MP and TV-Server working together. Things work pretty well except that no matter what I tried the SchedulesDirect program data would never get loaded into TV-Server.

I tried uninstalling everything several times and when just MP is installed, the Schedules Direct program data loads into the MP. I tried all the various instructions on getting SD running on TV-server but never got it all the way through. The auto tune works fine and the channels are recognized and they work when using MP connected to the TV server.

I have searched here many ways and just don't see any reports of the specific problem I am having. Either not many are going this route or it is something unique to my configuration.

Any tips would surely be welcome.

I have had the exact same problem and have tried everything short of uninstalling.
Have you had any progress ?

I tried and tried many times to get this to work. Not a single word of support here. I uninstalled, reinstalled, followed directions exactly. Spent a LOT of time, more than a week since the trial SD ran out. I paid up 5 bucks to get an extension and tried a bit more.

I never had no problems getting MediaPortal working fine in standalone mode, just never got the server working on one PC and having clients on this PC as well as others sharing a single SD EPG.Finally threw in the towel, gave up, and uninstalled it all.

Tried SageTV and in ONE SINGLE install, it all worked perfectly: TV Server and clients. Absolutely no problems. Had I known there was this much difference in ease of install and use, I would never tried MP. The old adage applies here: you get what you pay for.

I understand your frustrations, but your question is difficult to answer. If you had provided logs you would have had a chance to get some help, since there might be some indications therein.

I agree that digging up the log files, finding the proper one, finding the proper section to post would have improved the help in getting my problem resolved. However, I chose not to go down that path as it is the one that takes more time, effort, and dedication than I was prepared to expend on getting this up and running. And after experiencing ZERO trouble getting a similar function product up and running (albeit not free), I can get my pay rate back up over a couple bucks per hour. . For many here, the joy of exploration and tweaking is a hobby so it's fun to solve the challenges. For me, I just wanted to get TV on my networked PCs up and running and sadly MP requires more time and energy than I care to commit.
