I've recently switched from MediaBrowser to MediaPortal and I'm loving it.... apart from not being able to figure out how to grab all my TV Series metadata locally. I've built up quite a collection of folder and screen art with Media Center Master (and some photoshop work) that I would rather not give up the use of.

Any way to get this otherwise wonderful tv series plugin to use this data?

You can do it all manually, which was recently enabled for Sport fans.

FAQ - mptvseries - Frequently Asked Questions. - MP-TVSeries: plug-in for organizing TV shows in MediaPortal - Google Project Hosting

Or simply sign up at thetvdb.com and submit your artwork there, then it will be available not just for you, but for everybody else as well (if nobody shared their artwork, we never would have ended up with these fanart based plugins to begin with).

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll give the manual method a go, but just seems a bit tedious compared to the options in the Moving Pictures plugin that allows strict offline scraping.

I have also uploaded a fair amount to thetvdb as well as tmdb, but the lazy side of me whats it to autimatically grab what I have stored on the server. :)

NOTE: The reason you are not getting any artwork right now with MP-TVSeries, is because TheTVdB is down. They have scheduled upgrade maintenance on their datacenter, but they should be back up later today. I seem to recall reading something about 4pm.

Also I've created an issue that covers what you want.

    http://code.google.com/p/mptvseries/issues/detail?id=548

It would not only allow for off-line imports of existing thetvdb.com shows, but also speed up on-line imports on the shows that have not changed (the existing cache system already works like that on re-imports). The format of those en.zip files can then eventually be made manually as well, so you can add your own shows, or use your own artworks.

So 'star' that issue, and you will be kept informed on the progress.
