My windows 8 htpc updated to 8.1 so I had to install 1.6 version of media portal. At this same time I added about 20 movies. Two of the movies didn't find themselves and I had to do a manual add for them. I tried using the manual search and it did not work returned no results which was odd. I setup my directories as the folder name/ movie, nfo.txt, and folder.jpg. I noticed that folder.jpg is not being set as the default cover and the nfo.txt always has just the imdb link in it and it is not even helping. I assumed the point of having the nfo.txt w/ imdb link to the movie was to cover cases like this. Any suggestions, is there a hidden setting that may have become disabled that prevents these default files from being used?
