Screen stays locked on GUI when going from fullscreen to window in My Videos (1 Viewer)

When the TV is active and I switch from fullscreen to window in My Videos the screen stays locked on the My Videos GUI (although it is not active) and I have no way of getting any windows screen back.

When this happens and it happens 100% of the time I am forced to hard power off my PC.

If the mouse is moved it can be seen and some changes in the mouse can also be seen when hovering over where the task bar icons are. I am pretty sure the task bar icons are working as when I click in this area there is activity on the PC but I have found no way to get a windows screen back.

So the steps to make it crash :

1 Start MP ( I have it set to start full screen )
2 Press TV (I use a Hauppage Remote and TV is set to auto power on)
3 Press Videos
4 Press Blue Button (window / full screen toggle)
5 Game over

I appreciate that the window / full screen issue has been a long term problem.
The reason I am bringing this up is :

I can switch window / full screen without problem when the TV is active in My TV Just not when in My Videos.

This seems important, is's the only entry in the error.log file, I have no idea what it means though.

I have found that Mediaportal becomes unresponsive when changing from window to fullscreen in MyVideos i.e. the other way round to my first post.
I then have access to task manager and can shut Mediaportal down.

Are there any logs that I can look at when it becomes unresponsive to help determine why ?
Can anyone else reproduce the fault ? Is it specific to my setup ?

I have noticed that when in MyTV the switch causes the TV channel to be stopped then re-started. Is this what happens, and is it the case that it is not being done when the TV is in the small window in MyVideos ?

That's what mine does now.

In reply to another question you asked, TVE3 plays nicely with the T500 on a single pc, and if MP does freeze, any recordings carry on working, would not switch back.

I have installed TVE3 (quite a bit of work). I now have the blank screen problems reported elsewhere.

This has not changed the resize crash problem for me when in MyVideos.

The TV does not stay stopped for me on resize in MyTV as yours does.

TVE3 16453 with the same dates MP svn 16453 seems to work fine for me, also i am using PDVD7 codecs throughout all settings.

I am also using the Tsreader.

After that my specs are listed for my system. using the latest Nvidia beta driver.

Now I have TVServer installed I have installed MP on all 4 of my PC's.

The simplest was my 2nd PC a HP dv laptop. It seems reliable using tsreader and resizes as you say stopping the TV this may be related to the auto start TV option thinking about it.

The next an old Athlon 1.3Ghz worked ok

The last a Athlon64 3Ghz would not work with tsreader at all, I just get a black screen - OK when not using 'useTsReader.txt'

All display slight quirks that are different from machine to machine. So I can see why people report 'bugs' that no one else has seen.

I will try to make sure a bug is not isolated to one machine if I report it.

Added this to force the player to stop, seems to work but will test for a while....................
