Scrolling through videos listing, stutter, slow (1 Viewer)

I have tried an older version of MP 2.2.0 and I get the same thing.

Here is something I have found. I can run mediaportal in window mode, and bring up task manager. 100% cpu on startup, which is normal I would say. I go into My videos, 100% cpu usage and then it drops down when that entire page of videos is loaded (list or icon view, doesnt matter), as soon as I skip down a page of videos CPU hits 90-100% for 5 seconds or so, and memory usage jumps up from around 250 to 400mb at the same time. Once the page is brought up (in stuttering fashion) cpu and mem drops again.

The only thing I have no been able to figure out is why. It does this with very few movies, it doesnt do this with movies that have no cover art.

Could my cover art be causing the problem? I'm using scans off of cdcovers.cc (usually 100-700kb, some may be larger)

How many movies are in your list that have your large covers attached to them? You should be able to make small thumbnails ~20k each and MP will load them in the preview window and your large cover in the imdb view. MP also has a priority setting slider for the thumbs, what do you have it set on?

Also, you could check your page file size windows has set and see if you can bump it up a bit to maybe help the caching of thumbs.

I just took my tv shows (which has no covers) and divided them into 20 separate folders and used it as my movie folder. no problem at all.

so, its either how mediaportal is handling the covers, or they are just too big.

I have around 192 movies with large covers. I have set the slider all the way to the bottom to no result. The covers are just folder.jpg in each folder. How does MP select thumbs/big cover in imdb view?

Little update, I resized all of my folder.jpg images to around 200-350kb and still stutter. it seems to be a TAD bit better, but not really. I'm running out of ideas

Ok, so the latest update. I have upgrade to 2.5gb ram now. So my specs are

AMD XP 3000+ (2.1ghz)
A7n8X-E deluxe Nforce chipset mobo
Nvidia PCI FX5500 (256mb)
2.5gb DDR

No change at all. I get 100% cpu every time I go down or up a page in videos. Any idea? If not I'm going to start another thread with a new title I guess. the problem is the cpu spike when going page to page. I'll make a video of it tonight and upload.

BTW, it doesnt matter if I have 200 movies, or 30 movies. If I have to scroll down or up a page, boom. So FN weird and pissing me off!
