I'm trying to configure MP1.2 to use an external video player (powerdvd10) ONLY for certain file types. Why ? because I want to use the internal player for most files & Power DVD for 3D (stereoscopic) files. I could give the files a special name or place them in a special folder. has anyone any suggestions on how to achieve this ?

Thanks for the idea. I've had a look and it would seem possible with a suitable bat file. If I get it to work I'll post the info in case anyone else is interested.

    Hi Bradley,
I'm afraid I didn't get it going, mainly due to lack of time and that I had some issues with PowerDVD so I've changed to Total Media Theatre. Side by Side 3D recordings are now working fine within MP, both off-air & MkV files so I just need to launch TMT for Bluray now.
Here is another thread which gives a very useful script for launching external players, I'm going to try this : https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/play-specific-files-with-external-player.103481/

    Cheers

It is implemented for version 1.3.0A+ (by file extension).

thanks for the reply rkhsaw. i ended up getting it going in the end. that script didn't work for me so i puzzled over it for a while and got it to work. i had to remove all the top code from it above var=%1% to get it to work. glad they're implementing this in the next release though thanks for the heads up deda (y)
