Yes, that's the DDL I used and it simply would not work on my machine with 1.3Alpha installed (correctly picks up IP & MAC). My 'real' machine has 1.2.3 installed and the MPE release works perfectly - same target server.

I'm having a look at the device settings on the target server ethernet - I see it NOT set to allow device to wake computer in Win7 (so at least in some cases, BIOS is overriding this) - I've changed this and will retest once I get a chance - could be difference in how magic packets are being handled.

Will update once I've tested it.

Hi

Tested and still no joy. Tracing thread shows process hung in network IO - not a lot of help, but show the process is trying to send the packet.

When I get time I'll tinker more with timeouts and try another 'server' unit, suspect it's specific to network interface

Have you seen lehmdens comment about the hosts file?
There has been some issues with older versions of wol powermanager and apparently the current dll is based on one of those...
Workaround is to add the server in your c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host

It is there - call by name or by IP, same issue Has to be server network interface I'm thinking.

Dear all,
my problems have been solved. Actually WOL PowerManager has identified the wrong Mac address for my server (I assume it is the address of the WLAN bridge the server is connected to). When I connect by cable and set up WOL PowerManager, everything works just fine (LAN and WLAN). Thanks for your help.

That's good news and yep, MAC is only visible on a 'direct' connection.

I've just spotted the post by GJC in WOL thread, I'll test again tonight
