Set top box - how to change channels (1 Viewer)

My computer is running Windows 10 Pro . I have Comcast cable. I have a set top box.
Installed in the computer is a Hauppauge Wintv HVR 1850 board.
When MediaPortal wants to change the channel to record something, what must i do to get MediaPortal to signal the set top box to change channels?

You would need an IR blaster " it's a device that hooks to your computer and transmits the IR signal to your STB" and then you need to use the IR Server Suite plugin for the TV server.

That's how it works in MP1 anyway.
