Hi
i have a Sapphire 5450 card with hdmi out. I have setup MP as per Robbo100 guide.

The picture quality is good but but just doesn't look right. Hard to describe but a bit sharp on the edges.

I wondered if any one had any ideas of the best way to set up a graphics card.

What have you set in the "Codecs and Renderer" options page? You should get the highest image quality if you use LAV Video Decoder as your video codec, EVR as your renderer, and then go into the LAV Video Decoder configuration window and set the Hardware Decoder to DXVA2 Native.

You can get higher image quality than this (the main difference being less banding) if you use MadVR as your renderer, but unfortunately MediaPortal doesn't support this yet.

Thanks that does seem to bit better. Less pixalated. Still seemscm to have a slight shadow though.

Are you talking about analogue TV, digital TV or a video file?

Also, since you have an AMD card you'll wanna check the Catalyst Control Center settings. In particular, scaling and deinterlacing options should be set to maximum (unless your card can't handle this but the only way to know is to try!).
