Santa was kind to me today. He left a 640GB Western Digital Caviar Black under my tree. This gives me a good excuse (not that I need one) to redo my Windows and Mediaportal install. I currently have a Maxtor 200GB drive IDE connnection, a 250GB and 500GB Western Digital Caviar Green SATA Connection. I'm also currently running Windows 7 64 Bit installed on a partition on the Maxtor Drive. The rest of my setup is listed below.
My question is what would you do in my situation? What hard drive would you install Windows on? Would you install Windows 32 bit or 64 bit? What hard dive should I record shows to or timeshift to? I'm interested in fast boot times and as little lag a possible starting the TV server. I'm not interested in investing anymore money into my system, I'm just interested in what others would suggest doing with my setup.

    Thanks

You should install Win7 onto your fastest HDD.
    Therefore partiton the new 640GB into 100GB (Win7) + 540GB (media). Install Win7 onto 100gb partition.
I don't think changing the timeshifting / recording / windows paging files will make much difference in performance, however if you want to you should timeshift / record / put paging file onto the 500gb HDD.
If you install 32bit you miss out on some of your ram, however there is no advantage for mediaportal for going 64bit
