Hi,

I have a server (linked with my tv) that holds my movies, ...
I now installed mediaportal client on my second pc.
The problem is: do I need to import all my movies again and re-download all art?
Isn't it possible the my second pc uses the databse and art from the server?

There is no official way to share one database between two systems, sorry. This is something we plan to implement in the future but we haven't quite gotten there yet. There is an unofficial work around that you may be interested in, but it's a use at your own risk type of thing.

I and others have had corrupt databases occur due to that work around. It's definitely use at your own risk. What you can do however is setup 1 computer and then use the https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/moving-pictures-284/app-copy-artwork-details-movie-folder-71649/ . Then you can freely use the shared database/images if you want without fear of corruption since everything should be backed up to the individual movie folders in the event that something does go wrong and you need to reimport (just takes a little time to import).

I however let the separate HTPC's maintain themselves. I do one big import on the primary computer, copy its database/images to the other computers and then let them all handle themselves individually from then on. I periodically make sure to back up all the nfo's and images to the movie folders in the event something goes wrong and I want to resync.
