Yo,

Those two work fine here (and are some of my favourites too!!).
But I did not install Winamp, I just registered the sourceforce shoutcast codec mentioned above.

As Mario said: Codec-Packs suck..... :?

Just tested this shoutcast thing tonight.

Why would I need a asx file?

I have set up a new station and entered the url. It works. It works with entering a asx file in the url, too (Might be not the file but an internet adress named .asx). But why has sonic put up a page with up and download of files?

Streams which work this way without problem are:

    SMK Radio: http://212.48.125.67:8650

    oy.FM: http://www.joyfm.de/listen.asx

    Just curious.

    Hi Tomtom,

    sure both ways work.

I am using the ASX files, because i have lots of streams. And if the database structure of my Radio changes from one MP version to another all data would get lost. So the usage of ASX files easier to get from one version to another.

But entering the streams directly in the setup is much nicer, because i can add a genre. :) I am just to alzy to enter all the stations in the setup. ;)

    Flip,

thank you. Might make sense to save the info or use the asx files

On my first try I followed instructions of silentyl and downloaded all files sonic provided to a folder "shoutcast streams". I pointed in MP setup radio to this folder for streams ... alone no radio (stream) station showed up.
    What was I missing?
Interestingly in windows explorer the files I downloaded from sonic showed no suffix like ".asx"

Can you help me on this?

    Hi Tomtom,

it seems as if the download script on the site does not work correct with Firefox. Downloading them with IE (urghs ;)) worked. With Firefox i did not get the extension .asx, too. You just have to add them (rename file). Then it should work.

What did you use for download?

hi, can you upload your ASX-Files...?

@all Note: only tested on IE and Netscape, the Goal is not a MP Integration for this Upload/Download,
    the Goal is:

Enhance WindowsMediaPlayer for Shoutcast Sounds (first Post)
    Creating a Plalist Directory
Set this Playlist Directory in MP Config-Panel (Radio/Stream Settings)
    Download ASX-Files from http://www.buerdel.ch/mp/
    Enjoy Shoutcast on MP!!!

The Tutorial you can Download as PDF: http://www.buerdel.ch/mp/ShoutcastMP.pdf
