Hi!
I'm not sure if this can be considered a bug or as a suggestion. I think its a Bug :)

I noticed that mapped network drives appear with the local name of the drive at the server in the configuration in MP2 which made it a little bit difficult for me to find the share I wanted to add.

Explanation (not my actual setup but with this example it should be clear):

I have the following shares mapped on the client:

M:\ with \\myserver\movies$ with the name "Movies"
T:\ with \\myserver\tv-shows$ with the name "TV"
U:\ with \\myserver\music$ with the name "Music"
P:\ with \\myserver\pictures$ with the name "Pictures"

In the share configuration in MP2 I see in the list:
[M:/] Data
[T:/] Data
[U:/] Data
[P:/] Data

"Data" is the local name of the drive on the Server where all the shares are. Actually I'm impressed that you can get the local drive name from the remote server but I think the correct way would be to show the local drive name?

edit:
Additionally I just found a minor bug in that view. The "BACK" button does not work in Settings -> Shares -> Shares configuration -> Add

thanks & best regards
Stefan

I can confirm the issues you describe here:

    • Usually the name of the share is displayed correctly, but when using hidden shares ($ at end), you'll see the drive name that hosts the share. This is not intended.
    • "Back" button doen't work, but exiting using "escape" does.
    Thanks for reporting both!

The first issue is fixed in a branch. The problem was not related to hidden ($) shares, but to Windows behaviour: we used the DriveName for all kind of drives, but for mapped network drives it returned the name of the underlying drive. Stupid. On my NAS this didn't happen, it's Linux based.

I now format the drive name like the explorer does:
    M:\ with \\myserver\movies$ --> M:\ movies$ (\\myserver)

    That's no bug, it's a feature! :)
The "Back"-button is intentionally grayed out because the Shares-Add function starts at that point. You can yet switch back by pressing the standard back button (keyboard: Esc, remote: Back-Button? I don't know)

Hm ok, maybe it gets clearer when I actually can use the back button on my remote in another alpha ;) But wouldn't it be nicer to remove or hide the button completely in this first screen if it never will serve any purpose?
