Just an interesting enhancement that I've hacked but could be made more elegant. I use the StreamedMP skin and have added "Theatres" to my menu. However, by default I'm forced to choose some other backdrop(fanart?) for that menu item. What I really want is for it to show the >current< movie fanarts when I scroll to "Theatres" at the main menu.

In other words, when I go through the main menu, as you select each menu item (TV, Movies, Photos, whatever) the backdrop changes. I want it to change to a backdrop that is one of the >current< movies that are showing - not just any movie, and not movies that >were< showing at some point in the past.

To do this I created a Theatres subdirectory in the skin subfolder, and have a small .BAT file that deletes the contents of this directory daily, and copies over the contents of the fanart directory used by this plugin.

Ideally, it would be great if there were an option to choose the directory where fanarts can be placed for this plugin. Currently you can only choose the parent directory where it puts all fanart, dvd covers, trailer video files, etc. If this could be enhanced to also copy fanart to the skin's directory (and delete old ones too) then it could be automated.


As it it, the .bat file works fine and the effect is pretty cool.

Hmmm, yes... Maybe i'll do that...
Meanwhile, you can manually modify the config.xml file as you want...

fresh rebuild (and it was doing the before the rebuild, too).

If I select it to download the information (fanart and extra movie info) from TMDB, the grabber just dies in the middle of grabbing the info from that site. If I un-check those options (i have not tried them individually yet to see if it is just one option) the grabber gets all info for all theaters.

ok, if I select either one of those options, it dies. I attached the log file and if I can find out where the debug file gets put, I will attach it, too.

Nephilim, in this new version.. How do you set visible status to a placeholder in movie details? In first post, there is example if theater is selected but no example for movie details..

Edit: I've got it from b3w skin file.. You used Control.IsVisible(24) there..

wow, the skin file for monochrome is REALLY messed up. the display is totally unusable. Do the skinners need to make changes to their skin files to make this new version work correctly? or should it work with the current skin file for the skin?

it appears to be working really well, though. just can't use the skin file. I treid the default skin with monochrome. trying to see if the skin installed with the MPI will work.
