Hi all,
Newbie to all this, so apologies if what I'm expecting is daft! Running Win7 64-bit.
WMC - if I press the power button on my MCE remote, it'll go into standby. If I'm watching TV, it'll stop playback and go into suspend. If something is recording, it'll stop playback(assuming the user was watching something), turn off the display, and - I presume - enter away mode, keeping the PC up for the recording, after which it'll suspend. This is good, as the females in the household can just hit power when they've finished watching TV.
With Mediaportal, the PC seems to suspend no matter what. It'll stop recording, which is a nuisance. I tried setting it up to never suspend from the power button, and encouraged SWMBO to press stop and let the system control suspend by itself, but the stop button requires a double-press and nobody thinks to do this.
Can I remap the power button to stop playback and blank the screen, then just allow the system to control power saving based on being idle? Or is there a really simple option I've missed?
Thanks!
