The TV picture is stuttering random both with and without timeshift on. This is a reply to the request for using the template for support.

The TV picture is stuttering random both with and without timeshift on. This is a reply to the request for using the template for support.

What TV-card do you have? in the log I can see it's a Twinhan, but which one?

The TV-card model above says General H/W encoding card and DVB-type.
Use the new Twinhan-drivers from their site: http://www.twinhan.com/download_driver&software.asp.
And update the capturecarddefenitions-file. the latest is found at https://www.team-mediaportal.de/mediaportal-cvs-download.php

Both drivers and definitions are updated very regularly, so keep checking these sites...

There is a program that gets all the logs, important info from your system and makes a zip-file of it then you report the bug with the zip-file attatched =)

I use a Skystar 1 CI card with Twinhan BDA drivers. I have also tried a Twinhan 1030 A card, but there is no difference. These cards are also very similar and the vendors say that there is no difference according to the BDA drivers.

Hi,

Same stuttering problems here. So bad that the TV becomes totally unusable. I have tried all the suggestions seen so far in the forum (DMA mode for HD, setting MP to work with single processor, codecs, etc.) I even tried with a more powerful graphics card (NVIDIA 6200) just to make sure it was not a HW issue.

The interesting thing is that I have only started to get these problems after upgrading from 0.1.3.0 to RC 0.2.0. I know some fundamental changes have been made to the way the TV tuner functionality works so I am hoping this will provide some clue to the Pros as to what causes this change in behavior.

same problems here. myTV of MP 1.3 works great with all the drivers that failed with with the 2.0 RC2.
I made a few recordings and found out, that the problem seemed related to the GOP structure in the recorded file. That may also be the issue while watching tv. ProjectX (a tool i use to demux and fix AV-Sync problems due to bad recordings) threw a massive ammount of GOP errors while working the recording. Normally there are 2-3 errors at the start of the file, but after the installation i got, depending on the filesize, up to 200 errors per file (about every few minutes). For my log-file is created in german i try to translate the output here. Maybe it helps to find the cure for this problem (the only one that prevents me to use 2.0 RC2).

In the log-file there are statements like:

I do not think this is a driver issue, because all drivers that messed up my recordings in MP 2.0 RC2 worked well in 1.3.

Could it be that the other programs use Overlay (VMR 7) and Media Portal uses VMR 9 exclusively now and your video cards aren't powerful enough to deinterlace the signal?

I know I could not get stutter free ATSC 1920 x 720p or 1080i viewing under VMR 9 until I got a beefier video card, I tried a Radeon 9600pro, a 9700pro, an nV 6200 and finally a nV 6600GT, which I am currently using and it is as smooth as silk.

I am having the same problem. Is this solved in a newer cvs. Besides that I notice that everyone with this problem uses an ATI radeon card. So am I.
