Shuttle remote in troubles... (2 Viewers)

Hi everybody.

I spent a lot of time reading about how to configure an MCE compatible remote with Media Portal, but there are so much post about this that is impossible to get a response.

In my case, I had a Shuttle SG33G5M, which comes with a MCE compatible remote...Windows XP Pro recognizes it as an eHome infrared....I had installed the rollup from Microsoft to get the remote drivers in WinXP Pro....but the thin is that in Media Portal the only buttons that work are the arrows, the OK button, and the power button....

What I need to do to get it work?

Hi,
Enable the MCE remote in MP Configuration & The extended logging & start MediaPortal, try some buttons, close MediaPortal & attach mediaportal.log.

After following the good advice from ronilse, it might also be worth your while to read and try the IR Server Suite.

Here is my log. I´ve tryed a lot of buttons....

Hi,
In MP root folder you have a file called "eHome Infrared Transceiver List XP.xml", open that in Notepad & add the line
"<transceiver deviceid="#vid_0a91&amp;pid_3801" name="Shuttle MCE remote" />"
after the line
"<transceiver deviceid="#vid_2304&amp;pid_0225" name="Pinnacle PCTV remote" />"
if that doesn't help try to add this instead
"<transceiver deviceid="#vid_051c&amp;pid_c001" name="Shuttle MCE remote" />"
or
"<transceiver deviceid="#vid_051c&amp;pid_0005" name="Shuttle MCE remote" />"
& report back if it works & which one thats correct

Hi,
Thanks for reporting back which one that worked, have added it to MP too now(in revision 16723), so you don't have to edit the file when using SVN

Hi guys,

I have read this thread with interest and tried it with my own setup.

In my case none of the options work for me. Still only the arrows and OK buttons.
I even tried the latest SVN build but that does'nt fix the problem either.(10 mar 2008)

I just bought my Shuttle SN68PTG5 and a VF27 Vfd display.
I'm using windows MCE2005 but really would like to use MP.
If only the remote was working I would be very happy to drop MCE.
The VFD will come at a later time (I hope)

The remote from Shuttle is of type LC10 and should be compatible with an MCE remote.



Help me please !!
