Hi all new here so please be gentle


OK my set up

Home network with 4 PCs

PC 1 Living Room (Win XP) connected to the TV (wired network)

PC2 Bedroom (Vista Home Prem) connected to the bedroom TV (wireless network)

OK have ordered a USB DVB-T dongle, I want to put this on the bedroom PC, but I would like to be able to watch, pause etc it on the living room TV too (not at the same time)

I think this is possible with MP but want to make sure

So any advice is welcome

It is very possible, and you may be able to watch on the living room telly and the bedroom telly at the same time too (there are only 4 or 5 freeview frequencies and you can watch two channels on the same frequency at the same time).

I used to run MCE but you cannot share the tuners between PCs so this will be better

OK another question

I have MP installed on both PCs and on one when I play a video it opens in full screen on the other it opens in a small window within MP - how do I make it open full screen

It's hard to tell without logs, but I would guess that you've hit escape after starting the video (I can't think of any other ways to get a small window). If this is fresh install it may be worth choosing a skin to alter the appearance (and make it a bit more wife/girlfriend friendly)

And did not hit esc, was using a RC, so how do I get the logs?

I use Black Glass and Black Glass Nova for my skins, but there is no public release for the RC - the full range can be browsed here: MEDIAPORTAL - Skins, check it's suitable for the RC as there was a breaking chhange which means that old ones don't work.

well managed to program a button that I dont use on the MCE RC to put the video to full screen but wish that it would just start full screen

On the MCE RC the red button changes to full screen. By video are you referring to recorded tv?

dont have the coloured buttons on my MCE remote.

No TV tuner yet so just videos on a folder on a PC that I have pointed MP at
