Size of Recordings (1 Viewer)

I'm using a Hauppuage wintv-150 ,and a half hour recording was taking up 2GB,
I've been playing with the settings and got it nearer 1.5 GB,
still quite a size for a half hour recording ,
what should the size in GB should this length of recording be

I am using medium quality which is using a VBR between 2000 to 4000 (MP Defaults) I have a PVR500... which is 2 150's put together. My average 30 minute show is right around 1.2GB.

Just put recordings back to highest quality and ran the result through Winavi,
File ends up about a quarter of the size with no real image deteriation,

that'll be because it is compressing using MPEG-4 as opposed to the native MPEG-2 of your PVR-150
