I've started out on my first skin. The XML looks fun to decipher, but in any case, on my PC I run 1680x1050 res, so in the mediaportal config I set it to start in a window sized to the skin I am making (1366x768).

The problem is it looks awful - it runs in a window and looks about the right size but the text is blocky and the images look badly resized.

If I copy my theme down to my htpc though, and run it on the TV, it looks great. Am I missing something here?!

A bug got introduced some time ago that makes widescreen skins look bad in windowed mode. Not sure it got reported in the correct way though.

Well so far I've only really got as far as the main background and half the hover icons for the home screen, so it's not too exciting yet!

Thanks for the mention of the possible bug- i'll live with it for now (or perhaps see if I can spot what the bug is, but if it's in the DX rendering side of things I doubt I will have much of a clue!)

You might want to check and make sure that in the configuration's general section you've checked "Autosize window mode to skin (breaks teletext)". I know you said it looked to be about the right size, but I would imagine that if the aspect ratio is just a bit off it could create the effect you're seeing.
