I've found this problem so far when updating StreamedMP and plugins via Extensions from within MP's GUI.

To do these updates, MP closes and then the updating and restarting splash screens appear on my (Primary) monitor, rather than my (Secondary) TV which I run MP on, which isn't very good if I have my monitor powered off, as then I'm just left looking at the wallpaper on my TV and wondering what's going on.

These automated close/restarts also seem to appear to watchdog as a crash, as it starts the Debug Mode log collector (which strangely appears on my TV, whilst the splash screens are on my monitor. If I run Debug Mode manually, it runs on my monitor), which is very slow and annoying to wait for on my system. I've disabled Watchdog now to avoid this, but that's not ideal as then MP won't automatically restart in the event of an actual crash.

    Have you tried setting MP to run on the specific monitor?

    MP Config -> General -> Startup/resume Settings
    Check "Use screen selector to choose on which..."
    Select your TV on the "Start screen:" drop-down.

    Sorry if I wasn't clear, but yes that's how I already run MP on my TV, rather than my monitor.

    I think that a developer with a little more insight should comment on this.
    It may very well be, that the settings from config aren't respected, when the reload is done from MP itself.

    Hi doveman,

    it could be related (or identical) to the problem I have reported in this bug report

    Up to now nobody took the time to try to confirm :(

    Kind regards

    For what it's worth I sometimes see the problem with the splashscreen on my dual-display setup at work. This is on a single graphics-card, using both DVI and VGA. I always run MP in non-fullscreen there.

    The problem sometimes also shows when running Configuration (which also has a splash-screen).

    At home I have a TV hooked up to the HDMI of my gfx-card, and a secondary USB-monitor (DisplayLink) and I have never seen the problem there.

    You say, that you sometimes see the probelm. In the 2 setups where the problem occurred to me after changing the display configuration, the splashscreen from then on always appeared on the wrong display.

    I only got rid of it when I uninstalled the displays/monitors in the device-manager, rebooted and let Windows re-install the monitors after automatic detection.

    Kind regards
