I have seen that you have been added to the developpers list on sourceforge

I know you are working on a lot of things, but if you are looking for further projects, I think everything which has to do with search is the field where mp could make fast improvement.

This goes for
accessing media like music, videos, etc.
mp database search like music, epg
search algorythm for music-information on Internet (see thread)

I know there are a lot of dependencies like
keyboard/mouse/remote
skin
button actions

You´ve been active in all these areas in the past month so you might just be the right person to look into this :?:

This is still an active project and a bit of a pet project of mine. Didn't do much on it last week as my need for getting the MCE blaster working was greater.

I agree that powerful search capabilities can only help MP to get better.

Yeah until they realise how frequently I break CVS .

Definately interested in hearing your thoughts though so we'll have to chat on IRC sometime. I would rather build features in as I'm developing than to go back and add them later.

Predictive Stuff

Hi Smirnoff,

One Idea for the predictive:

Most keyboard input has to do with searching. When you are searching for something, you already have your "dictionary", since it is no use to find a word from a dictionary which is not in the e.g. "Albums" List. So I would extend the "SearchKeyboard" to allow inputting a datasource for the wordlist to search from.

Sample:
Your List contains:
ABBA
REM
Rutherford
Queen

Pressing 7 would get you to REM, pressing 7-8 would get you to Rutherford.
