Incorrect V1.3 Default Now Playing screen, you use left / right to access the top album tracks / similar tracks list. (I just double checked on my HTPC). There are also 5 menu items on the left, not 4. It's also used to access the hidden right menu in some of the other now playing screens :-P

Regardless someone please consider changing FWD function to SKIP function :) :)

Could somebody of the dev team please respond? I think it would help if one of you could let us know if and when this could be changed?

0002551: Skip Steps no longer working in My Music - MediaPortal Bugtracker

Won't be fixed. we agreed that Manfred'S changes will be left as they are.
Music Player should behave like a DVD player and not do skip steps.

    fix in svn 24148.

Bass player uses now the general global behaviour of g_player for FWD/REW.
Skip steps are available in Now Playing and Full screen Vis using the Left/Right keys or the respective keys on the remote.

Can you really do skip steps with left / right keys?

I havn't tried this, but can you do a custom mce mapping (mceremote.xml) conditional setup for the remote
eg. If music = playing then FFWD = skip or If window ID = now playing music then FFWD = skip. ???

Re: AW: Skip Steps not working in MyMusic during playback

    Read post #2 ;)

That one confuses me. It says:
    Quote:

so this implies skip steps will not be available...but then:
I am fairly sure the outcome last time was that ffwd/rew will speed up / slow down playback and left/right will carry out skip steps?
this implies that it has been decided that left/right keys will do skip steps
    could you clarify this?

FFWD /REW is IMHO useless in music. Why would you want Rammstein sound like Mickey Mouse? Skipsteps would be way more useful.

The report that skip steps are available in Now playing and fullscreen vis is older than the report that skip steps will not be available... so I guess they removed it again :( I at least can't find out how, if it is there...

I really don't think this is a good decision. All the people who want to listen to concerts, dj livesets, lectures, podcasts or other longer audio files are left out. Since MP also doesn't provide a 'dragbar' (where you can position your playpoint on the timeline) like almost all other audio players, MP is really useless to use with longer music and other audio files. :(

I really advise to reconsider to bring back the skip steps in the music section.
It would help so many people! :)
