Sky GO integration questions (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I have access to a Sky Go account but I rarely use it due to the poor ui. Currently I use multi shortcut plugin to launch it in a browser.

I'd love to have it more fully integrated into mp. Can you let me know if any of the following would be possible.

1. Integrate it into the IPTV server using some software to grab the stream details e.g.

2. Integrate similar to what has been created for xbmc. They have a batch file that handles auto login details held in a config. Also they pass the channel ids from an EPG user interface. Could a file be run from the IP TV tuner that handles the steps in the progress when particular channels are clicked on from the EPG?

3. Integrate the xbmc approach into a standalone plugin.

Does anyone know if any of these approaches are possible?

Sky Go integration would be nice. You'd never get smooth video a la TV though - they re-encode 25i sources to 30p so there is always judder.

I really hope MP's IPTV plugin expands at some point - IPTV is taking off in the UK and at the moment there's no way to view it in MP, even with a valid decryption card.

I also would love SkyGo integration. Even if it isn't anytime soon it would be nice to know to what level it could be done, how close to full integration we could get. Even if it would mean a long wait or even possible but without current development just the knowledge that it could be, to some degree, possibly would be one hell of a piece of information to be told.

BTW I have used multi shortcut plugin to integrate the xbmc skygo launcher into mp.

When I click on the skygo link, it logs me in automatically, goes straight to full screen and starts sky 1.

I can then change channel and view EPG using a mouse.

If we could integrate the XML files that xbmc have in their native plugin then we would be able to launch sky go on a specific channel, as they contain the ids that work with the launcher app.

Agrees. The Guys who write TV Server would need to look into this, but I am not sure who this would be.

Got this working for now. Worked best for me when i closed mediaportal via the xbmc skygo script once the skygo.exe launched, otherwise i was getting more problems than it was worth. Got mine opening in sky sports news and mapped my remote to change channels.
