There is an option to fill holes, but I guess it depends if these are seen as holes to MediaPortal or valid programmes with a title of "To Be Announced".
I think there is also an option to update entries which may help, but I believed when I looked last night (my HTPC is in use at the moment) neither was checked. I skimmed forward a week (which is where the Freesat data runs out) and could not see "To Be Announced" in the EPG. The channel group I use as my main EPG view is a subset of Freesat (all BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and offshoots, Channel 5, the CBS channels and a few others) and I only have the Freesat Info Radio channel EPG checked to get the Freesat EPG. I think when I used the Sky EPG I only had that selected as I think it inlcudes all the Freesat channels. It made the Search EPG neater as there was only one set of categories rather than two (as Sky and Freesat use different category names).
I am using MediaPortal RC5 at the moment (haven't got round to RC6 and final is due any day now). TSwriter is the one installed with RC5 as I have not used a modified one since about RC1 or 2.
I only have the Freesat EPG grabber enabled at the moment.
All the channels I usually record from are covered by the Freesat EPG.
I think the TSwriter in RC5 (which I currently have installed, although looking at the MediaPortal front page that may change tomorrow!) has DJBlu's Freesat EPG grabber modifications but not the Sky ones. I haven't overwritten the standard TSwriter since I was using RC1 or RC2 so I don't think my TSwriter would grab the Sky EPG.

Hi all,
I have created installers based on 1.1.0 final if anyone is interested in adding series link to MP.
The benefits of Series Link are:
Repeated airings on the same channel are not recorded (as they will have a different series id)
If the title of an episode differs during a series, the episode will still be picked up and recorded.
"Record every time on this channel" records all repeated airings and because it is based on the title, cannnot detect episode where the title changes.
The installers add the following to 1.1.0 final:
Full Sky UK EPG grabbing (this is re-coded and not based on djblu's tswriter)
Series Link capability in the scheduler (records each episode in a series)
Automatically deletes the Series Link schedule after the last episode has been recorded
Quick record menu (See screenshots)
To install:
Simply install MP 1.1.0 final
Then run both installers (one for tvservice and one for mediaportal)
To enable EPG grabbing for Sky in this version, just select the radio channel "EPG background audio". The timeout can be set as low as 1 minute as it only takes about 17 seconds to grab the entire epg carousel (plus a couple of minutes for MP to insert all ~115,000 program entries into the database)
Please note that these installers add new fields into the database so if you want to use them, i'd recommend exporting your current database (in tvsetup). This *may* cause problems if you want to upgrade to future versions. Also note that its likely there will be bugs intially but I will do my best to fix problems as they crop up. Im hoping that Sky Italia will work, but it is impossible for me to test it. The Huffman trees for both UK and Italy are compiled into tswriter.
Ive attached an svn patch file. You only need this if your interested in the source code, or want to compile this new functionality into other versions of MP.
