Thanks for the quick response, no XMLTV (scraped that) just the new TSWriter.

The reason I use EPG only as when I 1st set this up EPG data was only filled in for channels that were Sky only or were linked to sky channels, which makes sense.

I had it all working fine, very neat and quick but was missing data for ITV HD as did not have britshorts ticked, was about to try with both ticked when the TVServer decided to create the DB again. I am just putting things back together so will tick both this time and go though the initial load again.

UPDATE: After a rebuild, had only lost the data I had done this afternoon so a rescan and lots of clicking later I ticked both EPG Background and Britshorts and can confirm I get data for all sky channels and ITV HD - and now all backed up!

This is the best, and only I think EPG soloution for Sky that gets data for everything. Can now get data for all channels from one source, before using various XMLTV sources could only get 90% or so.

Hope this makes it into 1.1 release of MP

RC4 missing channel epg now present, also getting itv hd with standard tsreader.

was there any changes to the tswriter after you released your patched version for RC4? They ran into some trouble before release so the might have made some changes??

The latest patched version will work with RC4 as there has been no changes since I patched it.

Hi, Not working for me already had both c++2005 and 2008 installed, unchecked xmltv, stopped tv service in services, copied ts writer etc to directory, restarted tv service, ticked epg background and grab while idle and then refreshed dvb epg. Is this right? it just sits there with the card status remaining idle and in the epg log it is just a lot starting and stopping initialising. I've attached logs if anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

Hi I think you have to have IEPG Data and Brit Shorts ticked as well as epg background, I have these three ticked and mine works ok, picks up all the channels in the EPG, also it is not instant, once you press refresh epg it takes about 1 hour for all the channels to be populated.

What version of MP are you using? and the really obivious question...you have enabled 'EPG grabbing while idle' in setupTV->General Settings->EPG?

I am using RC4 and it works fine, the channels you need to grab depend on what you want.

UK Sky EPG - Radio Channels -> EPG Background Audio
UK FreeSat - TV Channels->Britshorts (also need to tick if want sky with ITV HD listings)

The 3rd option, IEPG is for Italian listings

Folks,
A few questions....
1. How does the EPG from this compare to the Radio Times Data via WebEPG. I really like the two weeks of data and the long descriptions you get with the RT data.
2. Can you use this as well as WebEPG or will the two mess each other up?
3. If you can't use both at the same time. Is it possible to use this (to get ITV-HD working with up to date TSwriter/TSReader). If so what do I need to do to disable the EPB grab.
4. Can I use this just to grab the ITV-HD data (which does not seem to be available from WebEPG)...

Hi,
Well I decided to give this a go and I'm very impressed, seems to work really well... The only problem I have is that some of my channels do not seem to have listings available some of these I can understand (like some of the UK channel five channels that are not on freesat), however I'm surprised that Film4 does not seem to have a listing, does anyone else see this data missing?

Also I'm not sure what to do about the other channels. Should I enable an epg grab via the DVB-T channels? Has anyone else tried this? It seems to work bt I can see that some channels are now being grabbed by both the DVB-S grabber and the DVB-T grabber, is this likely to cause a problem?

Finally what are the best settings for in the general section? Is it best to have the fill holes, and always update options set?
