I put the modified tswriter on my system last night (normal release 1.0 version, no svn) and it seems to be working really well. It did thrash the system for some time while updating, but finished without problems and the EPG is nicely filled in (more channels than I could find with WebEPG).

Regarding my earlier query as to whether it could coexist with WebEPG to get the second week's timetable - it doesn't seem to work. All existing EPG was deleted when the grab happened, so only the current week remains. Not really a problem though, a week is enough in most situations. I've just disabled WebEPG/xmltv for now.

I set PowerScheduler up to wake the machine each night to grab EPG, which seemed to work last night, but there was a "Media Portal crashed unexpectedly" message on the screen when I looked this morning, so perhaps something is not quite right with that. It could be completely unrelated though (my system gives errors on closing MP every now and then) but if it keeps doing it I'll post logs.

What are the advantages of updating to the latest svn and using the later tswriter zip (presumably the tswriter for 1.0 is earlier than the one for svn and possibly buggier)?

If you open the task manager when you are updating your epg. Click on processes and look for the TVService.

Have a look at the memory usage when the hard disk kicks in. If its about 80meg then your system is using the page file and not the system memory.

I am going to introduce a method that will allow you to select 8 channels, 1 for each day to erradicate this error.

Well, that one is the problem.. I want just the Sky UK epg, but in RC4 I had to enable BritShorts too to get all the channels from epg audio.. Now none of the combinations work for me.
atm, I have no signal on britshorts due to bad weather here but I don't think that is relevant. I only get three epg channels from epg audio. weird huh?

Can you upload your logs of the EPG Audio grab please.

Well, it's in the logs I posted. I get three channels from bskyb EPG background radio channel.. Anyway I can't test anything now since my diseqc won't switch so I'm stuck on Astra 19.2 for a while

Reinstalled tswriter original, unregistered it, put yours in, registered it, got diseqc unstuck, getting full sky EPG as I write so all is working now, guess you were right and it was using the old tswriter I just renamed? Sorry for taking your time, great stuff!! Wife is happy she has EPG for Crime and Investigation network

Mate can I just ask if its "safe" to use this version of tswriter with latest svn? Any drawbacks that u can think of, or all shud be cool?

Just modifying it now. If I think this does what I think it should do now then I will be able to implement a funtion that will update the channels too.

BTW I have bought an another 2Gb of RAM, thought about how hungry vista is compared to XP and the fact my GPU already eats 512Mb of the 2GB available. Can't go wrong for less than £25!

Me again, EPG updates work without a hitch. Perfect. But, it seams that using the latest SVN and your TSwriter I get cannot build graph on coded channels. If I revert to "normal" TSWriter, everything is fine.. I can run some tests if you like.. (this is probably related to using mdapi on my side I guess but normal tswriter works great but no EPG than)

i get the same issue here - not all scrambled channels though, just a few - new version should sort this though!
