The problem now is that I do not see any EPG for Rai Uno, Rai Due etc... in general for the non-sky FTA channel.

It works for me for rai and mediaset channels (they're included in sky guide).

Maybe you have to make a complete rescan. I also had problems with some channels not having guide. After a complete cleanup and rescan all worked perfectly.

For "cleanup and rescan" do You mean cleaning up the channel informations and rescan them?
I had in program to do it because now I've also strange situation like this: for many channels (maybe all the HD channels) I have two version of them; one carries the EPG information but cannot be visualized (it returns an error like "no video present") and the other has no EPG info but can be visualized.

this is an open source project, distributed under the GPL.
i'm no GNU bigot, but as you were taking GPL'd software, modifying it and releasing binaries i was perfectly entitled to ask for the source. no matter how much blood, sweat and tears you may have put into your modifications.

oh and just to clarify - as you have already released binaries with your OpenEPG mods, you have to publish those.
even if you release the source of a plugin that does not contain what you consider to be your "good stuff", as you have already released it in a binary which is covered by the GPL you are legally obliged to release the source of that.

anway, as i have pointed out, the source of a mediahighway parser for sky italia was released over six months ago. so what is the big secret?

so anyway, i'm going to go off and use the source i found and "try" to add it to mythtv - which was the original reason for asking

Yes cleanup (delete tvdatabase) and rescan. I also had this kind of problem, probably due to sky frequency changes...

So You have flagged only the Alice channel... And this is sufficient to receive the EPG of all the Hotbird 13EST channel?
What about DVB-T channels? (I see You do not have a DVB-T board)

A question, for you. Do you not get annoyed when commercial products copy your efforts and make hundreds if not thousands of pounds/euro's?

I can think back when there was a complaint put in about a certain product using the skinning technology of this product. What was the outcome? Not much.

By the time you prove anything the offender has already made the fortune. And whats the worst that can happen? They are forced to give the source code, which was there in the first place.

Like I say have fun implementing it as I did(I am being geniuine) when introducing it to this software, and I hope that the other DVB Software thats out there doesn't rip your code off.

Yes I do it manually using MS SQL Management Studio.

If you flag alice channel you will get the complete sky guide including many fta italian channels, rai, mediaset, ecc. You will not get EPG for other bouquet of course (like premiere and france channels).

As for DVB-T I think you have to use the nephilim epgdownloader on htpcitalia for it.

I already use nephilim epgdownloader... but I'd prefer grabbin' directly from sat where available.
Anyway, after a good clean (I have MySQL and made a trip inside the tables) now all works properly!

Some curiosities...

First:
What's the meaning of the "Timeout" parameter in the "TVServer Configs > General Settings > EPG" section?

Second:
I added by hand two satellite channels (setting up the frequencies parameters by hand); the channels work good but there's an issue: while the EPG of all the other channels covers more or less one week, the EPG of the new channels covers only a few hours at a time.
