Your work on this is much appreciated. I was wondering whether you are able to pull the 'Series-Link' data from the Sky UK EPG, this would be a fantastic addition to MP - though with TVServer in feature freeze I could see it not making the cut, unless a plugin was created.

I can pull Series Numbers and Series Totals from the data I don't know if this is how Sky use it as it is at the start of the Description.

There are a few formats to it. i.e.

1/5.
1 of 5.

I will keep my eye on them and update the source as and when a new version is included. I will not be including it in the first version I put up.

If anyone can help me gain access to the TS Stream from TV Server then I can write a console application that will update the database automatically.

Hi DJBlu, The EPG for MP has allways been a problem for me using DVB-S in the UK. This now looks to be a thing of the past. I can't wait for your release of this TSWriter. Many people will thank you greatly.

This is what I have so far.

To use you will need to use ProgDVB pid recorder.

In ProgDVB select the following Channel(s)

EPG Background Audio. <-- Sky Uk
Alice <-- Sky Italia

Click Services --> PID Recorder.

Select all transport stream. Record about 10 - 13 seconds.

Then use the program to open this ts file.

You will need to select which version of Sky it is, this is found in the settings(Future release will do this for you)

Then wait about 3-4 mins(This will greatly reduce in future releases)

To write the TVGuide.xml click Export Data --> to XMLTV file

This will write a file in the same folder as OpenEPGtoXMLTV.exe.

Enjoy.

P.S. Not perfect yet. But 95% of channels have all summaries.

Excellent, I've never seen the DVB-S EPG so full... EVER. I can see where your going with this DJBlu and I think its the biggest breakthough in DVB-S EPG ever. Many thanks.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to DJBlu, for the first time my EPG is fully populated in Mediaportal, I know that DJBlu has been working hard on this for quite sometime as I have been checking the forums almost daily for updates on the SKY EPG project, all of your hard efforts are much appriciated, thanks once again.

I just wanted to know is there any way or are there any plans to automate and schedule the whole update process, the reason I ask is that my Media Centre is not normal attached to a keyboard and mouse

I have requested to the Media Portal Devs to take EPG functionality out of the TSWriter so that I can write plugins for various EPG systems. Thus keeping the size of the TSWriter down and error free.

As is stands I can't implement this into the TSWriter due to the amount of data and channels.
