Re: Problem with latest version of the plugin and MP 0.1.1.1

I have to stick to MP 0.1.1.1 because I find certain incompatibilities with the latest versions. However, previous versions of Skype plugin worked ok, but now the latest version shows an error saying "Error: Failed to locate assembly". Any ideas on how to solve this issue?

I do not maintain backward versions compatibility...
Bu I suggest you to try the previous one, you can download the package here : http://www.prodigia.org/digimatrix/downloads/Skype4MP_old.rar

Also, you can try to use both the new skin files and the old dll files. I did not tried it but it could work ! And you wouldn't have the navigation bug...

Hope this helps !

Can you check your log file plz !
And if you find some lines regarding skype, let me know !

I will check it as soon as I get home from work ;)

btw, is there any difference from where I run the "runme" file? I ran it from another hardisk at first but then the plugin did not work at all. so I copied it to my MP folder and ran it from there and I got it workin but with the problem I posted earlier. Maby you should mention in the "readme" file exactly where the "runme" file should be run? ;)

MCE Works Great, however... I can't seem to navigate

I'm trying to navigate with my keyboard and have no luck. When I receive a call I can click ok on the popup to answer, but then I cannot end the call or do nothing with the keyboard. Am I doing anything wrong?

Thanks a lot, again!

ssubo : I think it's a bug from my plugin. But I tried to make calls and to navigate with the keyboard successuflly. Anyway I 'll check that point.

tkortell : There was a problem in the package you've downloaded, so you must uninstall the previous package this way :
->in the plugins/windows directory run regsvr32 /u SkypeAPI.dll
->delete the SkypeAPI.dll from the plugins/windows directory
->uninstall the ActiveSkype (old named SkypeAPI)
->re-download the package
->follow the procedure

Sorry for the inconvenience !

there is no file called SkypeAPI.dll in the plugins/windows directory. There is only Interop.SKYPEAPILib.dll and Skype4MP.dll in that directory.

Maby it is best if I go back to a backup of Mediaportal that dont have the Skype plugin and try again?

Is this realy the right setup procedure? It does not say anything about what to do with the SkypeAPI.dll file...

1 - Install SKYPE if it is not already done ;) !

2 - Download ActiveSkype (ActiveS) last version from KhaosLab ( http://www.khaoslabs.com/index.php?page=skypeapi )

3 - Install ActiveSkype.

4 - copy the skin directory into your MediaPortal root directory.

5 - copy Skype4MP.dll and Interop.SkypeAPI.dll in Mediaportal's /plugins/windows directory.

Try it !

I don't think so !

Yes it is. In the previous pakage, the "runme.bat" and "SkypeAPI.dll" presence was not expected.

Here is the problem : the Skype screen cannot been construct. I it's probably due to bad SkypeAPI.dll reference. That's why I suggested you to unregisters the old SkypeAPI (it has been registered when you've run the old runme.bat), uninstall and reinstall ActiveSkype and to finish copy the files Skype4MP and especially Interop.SkypeAPI.dll !
