Excelent reply infinity... I am infinitely grateful 8)

I will go through it after work, in about 12 hours.

I was aware that it seems I am the only person on the planet who can't get SS2 to work with MP. :?

So you... make a living? maintaining HTPCs? or just pocket change? Sounds like a great gig.

I had this problem and always need to install server4pc for MP to detect my card. I thought that program was no longer needed to your card to be detected in MP... I just reinstalled XP and haven't loaded any drivers or applications for my DVB card. What is the best way of getting this set up.

setup4PC is required. you must install everything that comes with the driver download.

you know it will be interesting to clear this out (because the less the better) - maybe rtv found a way to keep what is vital?

Maybe some settings were saved earlier when Server4PC still was installed..

I remember doing a clean install once. There the following issue has arised:
The card lost its mac-address and Windows was continuously showing these dhcp (requesting IP) icons..

But I think there was something in the faq about it..

    Well, here's what happened...

Even though I had server4pc installed before, something asidie said made me think it was worth investigating, so I went to technisat site (again), but THIS time, I ran their setup.exe, let it do it's thing (I'm sure I had done this before), but this time, I actually rebooted when it asked (I hate doing that... 5 minutes to reboot), and voila! now it finds SS2 card!#@$!

So I don't know what to say about that. I suppose something about the technisat setup.exe? Who knows.

But there's more... now it can't create graph for card, and no autotune tab. Again, I thought Asidie had said something about this, but couldn't find a post on how the problem was fixed. I wipe MP folder, reinstall to run wizard, still no graph, and no autotune card. I wonder and imagine to myself if setup4PC is causing problem... so I simply shut down setup4pc, and now MP can build graph and there is autotune tab!!!. Again, I am surprised, but that is what happened. Maybe a coincidence? Now I can run server4pc and get graph/autotune.

At this point, I'm getting no signal strength or quality, but thank God I'm not stuck anymore.

You guys have really pulled through for me this time. I am very happy to have an Open Source Community HTPC, and I promise that I will contribute some code someday.

Just more update in case anyone is searching this thread with the issues I had... I rebooted, and now it occasionally finds channels when scanning... still no signal strength showing, but lots of quality. So I guess now that I'm caught up to the pack, we can close this thread.

    Thanks again everyone.
