Re: SleepControl plugin for MediaPortal v0.7.5 (Invalid or missing file error)
Hi all!
I use mediaportal without TV Card so I installed mediaportal without TV server or client. I noticed that Sleep Control Plugin doesn't work if TvControl.dll doesn't exist at c:\program files\team mediaportal\mediaportal folder. I installed mediaportal to my notebook with TV client and I copied TvControl.dll to my HTPC and everything is OK. I hope this helps someone who experienced this problem like me.
I really would like to have a "Stop Playback" instead of suspend or something like that. Because this htpc is also my NAS which should be turned on all the time. I only want that when I go sleep, the music playback stops at the set timer.
I will pick up an issue which usualsuspect has posted here several weeks ago: Communication between GMPS and SleepControl. In one of your last private mails to him you asked for direct communication with GMPS, so taht you can remove your temporary solution.
I have added the possibility for SleepControl to enable / disable the GMPS IdleTimer with the new 0.3.4.1 Alpha 11 Version of GMPS (which can be found here : http://gmps-scheduler.de/Forum/DE/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=231 )
Attached please find a Visual Studio project with all necessary information on how to do the communication. Unfortunatelly, this requires some installations of 3 or 4 DLLs into the plugin path for MP. I hope I get an easier solution done for the next 0.4 version. The current communication has the disadvantage, that it sometimes takes about 1 Minute till the connection is done (I'm using a HttpChannel) - but I have no idea why.
Hi Bruce Benner,
I don't know exactly what you mean, but I try it.
The problem can occur, if
you don't use Blue3 as your default skin
your favourite (and default) skin does not support SleepControl or the actual version (the last version requires skin updates, please ask the skin developer)
you don't have copied manually the sleepcontrol.xml into the your skin directory
Also it is very helpful, if you spend time to write down your personal system specifications (see personal profile), to give me a reproducible error report (what do you mean with "button sleep control press"?) and, if the problem cannot be fixed, a snapshot of your mediaportal logs. Additionally a hint which installation type (mpe1, zip) do you use is welcome.
Looks very good
It would be really useful if there was the possibility to just turn down the volume after a period. A program that does this function is the "Goodnight Timer" See Goodnight Timer - Shutdown Timer with volume reduction for your PC
Turn down the volume and blank the screen would be even better
