Overlay mode isn't supported anymore in MP. You could try to lower screen resolution and see if it helps (of cource this isn't a sollution, but would give at least some hints).

I have tried a lower screen resolution like you suggested but it didn't make very much difference. I am starting to have suspicions that this could have something to do with my graphics card and that perhaps I need to consider and upgrade. :|

I think Nvidia Geforce 6200 LE should be enough (at least for lover screen resolutions) as I myself are using just old 5200 and it's running ok.

Yeah I would think the 6200 should be powerful enough. Could you please tell me which codecs you are using.
