Hi,

I have an Avermedia A815 USB DVB-T tuner, mediaportal needs ~1m20s to initialize the card after a reboot. Once it's initialized, tuning to another channel is very quick. I have a DVB-S card in the PC as well, it only needs seconds to initialise.

The TV viewer application bundled with the card initializes the card in ~5 seconds, so I suspect there might be a problem with mediaportal.

Things I've tried:
- the "generic" and "dvb-t" provider
- different codec combinations (ffdshow / Microsoft / powerdvd)

Extract from tv.log where I tuned to a DVB-T channel at 13:56:37, card finally initializes at 13:57:58:

Try enabling pre-loading card in tv configuration.

Haha, like that is going to make it quicker. It will still take the same amount of time, but i think you are hoping it will be done when the user starts watching TV.

I tried preloading the card, media portal takes forever to start up then, and I end up with a non-functional TV - corrupt TV guide & an error message along the lines of "Unknow error occured" when I tune a channel.
