slow opening of mkv files? (1 Viewer)

MediaPortal Skin: StreamedMP
Windows Version: XP SP3
h.264 Video Codec: CoreAVC
TV - HTPC Connection: HDMI

am running MP 1.1.1, StreamedMP v1.4.3.2245 and MediaInfo v0.7.37. i have my files (using Moving Pictures and MyTVSeries) stored on a NAS running over a gigbit LAN, when opening files there is a good 20-30 second delay when opening a file. in media player homecinema, files open instantly.

i have tried different versions of mediainfo.dll and the delay is still there. have different machines and result is the same across the board so different hardware combination doesnt seem to be a factor.

any ideas?

Change MKV splitter, or just reinstall it.

oh you star, that seems to have done it or at least made it a lot better, i've gone from about 45+ seconds after clicking a tv show, to about 10 which is infinitely more acceptable!

fyi, i installed the latest haali splitter (i had just used what coreavc bundled with it) and using mediainfo v0.7.37.0.

ok new problem when a movie or tv show finishes playing, MP errors out then crashes.
it does the same on my 2 ION based machines but also have a dell which has a nvidia pci-e card but doesnt have the problem.
