I have installed SAF. Furthermore the following programs are always running: uTorrent, Filezilla FTP Server, Bluetooth, iMon manager/driver, EasyTune6 to keep my cpufan quiet (stupid Gigabyte doesn't have the ability to set min-max temp for the cpufan to start going faster, in their top 780G mainboard, even Asus has this).

When MP is active, running in background minimized or maximized, typing (in Word, Firefox, Notepad) goes real slow (very annoying). Even scrolling through a page goes slow... and flash advertisements are going to slow.

The CPU is doing almost nothing, there is plenty of free memory. (checked with process explorer). There is no adware/malware/virus.

This happens even when I just start MP and then exit it to tray, without ever playing a movie.

Any ideas how to fix this?

I would test if it was one of the plugins if I were you. Just disable them one at a time, until it stops (if it stops), start with the newest installed plugin first. If you find the plugin, complain loudly at the developer.

Thanks for the tip. I disabled all plugins (so even Sudoku and Settings menu) and started MP.
Then opened my browser and Notepad.. typing still goes slow.
Minimized MP to tray, still the same.
Exit MP in tray, now I can type normally..

So it doesn't have anything to do with the plugins.

BTW I used Winamps Milkdrop vis but I also disabled visualisations in MP Configuration..

Now I also tried uninstalling Ati driver + CCC and installing latest Catalyst 9.9. Tested with MP while all plugins are still disabled and it's still the same.

I guess there is no other option for me than killing MP everytime I need my pc for something else. I don't understand why I'm the only one. I have a pretty standard and common setup. Perhaps most people only run MP on their pc... For me its a HTPC in the living room looking just like a dvd player or so, but it's also the only PC in the house so I use it for everything.

btw I also tried with my PS/2 keyboard because I thought it had something to do with the bluetooth driver. But that's not the issue, even wired PS/2 keyboard gives the same problem.

EDIT

I've found the issue! It's the KEYBOARD INPUT PLUGIN !!!

Good on ya you found it. I too have the ful HTPC setup with the case that looks like an amp, i think many other peeps using mp do the same. I would try and let the peeps who do the keyboard import plugin(is it part of mp now?) and tell them about your problem.

I switched back to ShortCuter plugin. The buttons of my remote are now MUCH more responsive! With Generic Keyboard/Remote Input Plugin it was like my batteries were almost empty.
Also I don't have the problems I mentioned here.

BTW I also tried IRSS but that didn't work for me. (IMON PAD with Silverstone ML02 case).
