MediaPortal seems to be very sluggish just about everywhere. scrolling down one entry, going into a menu, opening something. Everything has a small delay that's not always the same.

This makes it very annoying to navigate through the application, because for that you need (near-)instant feedback. In MediaCenter navigation is totally seemless and everything responds instantly. In MediaPortal everything has a delay of around 100ms.

MediaPortal 1.0 RC2
Windows XP SP3
Core 2 Duo 2+GHz
2GB RAM
Onboard G35 graphics via HDMI
All the latest drivers and everything, not to worry.

Make sure that you assign at least 128 MB to the IGB, as stated in Wiki -> requirements :)

EDIT: 100ms - hm .. well, using DB for music etc. reduces wait-time, but not sure if 0.1 sec is "bad".

Yes, 0.1 sec is bad. And like I said, it's not always 0.1 sec, I'm just guessing. And using some DB will certainly not help making simple list scrolling more responsive. I mean, holding down the "down" key, should smoothly and responsively scroll through the list, right? It feels more like an unsynchronized youtube movie, than a flashy media application right now.

I'll look at the graphics memory and see if increasing it helps.

Ah ... if list scrolling is 100ms then I agree that things are sluggish.
Viewing large shares w/the "watched function enabled and not DB (just browsing filenames) might cause this, though.

You should attach your log files, just so that everything is correct and complete.

    Best of luck :)
