Motherboard: 06C4h (Compaq)
TV Card Model: MSI 8624 Video Capture
TV Card Type: Hardware
TV Card Driver: 2.4.0.4
Video Card Model: Nvidia Geforce4 MX 4000 (64 MB)
Video Card Driver: 71.89
Video Card Resolution: 1280x1024
Video Render Type: Overlay
Audio Card Model: Creative Audigy Audio Processor (WDM)

Synopsis::

Now, I need to know if Mediaportal will work with this system?
If not, are there alternative systems I could get it to work with(yes, I realize this is a MediaPortal forum. I have to ask though)?
Alternatively, what do I need to do with the system?

Any help is appreciated highly.

I'm very enthusiastic about having a HTPC, but as the total newbie I am I need feedback and help

Absolute minimum I suppose, switch the gf4mx for a 5200 and get another 256mb of ram (another 512mb would be better).

Providing that capture card is hardware (cant find a thing about it), it should work acceptably. Obviously the cpu being too slow, timeshifting may not work but it should pass otherwise.
